Communications

BSD works to keep you informed and up to date on regular studio happenings:

Inclement Weather

BSD will not hold classes when Portage Public Schools is closed due to weather. Classes cancelled due to inclement weather will not be rescheduled. We will notify our families as soon as possible when cancellation is necessary.


Makeup Classes

Dancers are encouraged to make up classes by attending another age appropriate class time. Please contact the studio for makeup options.


Dancer Drop Off/ Pick Up

Parents are asked to walk younger dancers to the lobby and pick them up after class. Dancers will wait in the lobby until class time, while waiting appropriate dance shoes should be put on.


Parent Observation

We do not have a parent viewing area at our studio. We find this causes less of a distraction to the dancers and they are able to better focus during their classes. Parents are invited to observe and videotape their child during “Peek Week” for the final 10 minutes of each class.

Recordings are made regularly of your dancers routine and posted on our Google Classroom. This is a great way for your dancer to practice their routine at home.


Studio Etiquette

All street shoes must be removed in the lobby if there is rain, snow, or ice outside.

  • The studio design allows for multiple classes to be held simultaneously. Please be respectful of the other classes and refrain from activities that may be distracting to the participants/instructors.

  • Water bottles may be filled with WATER ONLY.

  • Dancers may not tap dance in the lobby area while waiting for class to start.


 Classroom Etiquette

  • Dancers should be ready with appropriate attire, hair pulled back securely and dance shoes on prior to the start of class.

  • Dancers should have water bottles filled with WATER ONLY ready for class.

  • We here to learn dance and have fun.


Sickness

In the event that your dancer is sick please use your best judgement when deciding to send them to class or not. If your dancer has a fever we recommend refraining from sending them until they are fever free for 24hrs. Please contact staff to inform us of any absences. If your dancer would like to make up studio time, please contact us for available classes.


Withdrawals

Once registration closes for a term there is a one- month notice is required to discontinue any payments for the following month. To withdraw, a parent must email staff@bsodance.com to inform us of the withdrawal request. Autopay charges will stop after the one-month notice period.


Tuition & Payments

Tuition rates are due monthly based on term length. Yearly- September through May, Semester- September through December and January through May. Tuition fees are paid monthly, due on the 3rd of each month.

After registering (paying the 1st payment- registration ), monthly tuition must be paid by autopay or credit card payment. Tuition will be debited from your account (or charged to your credit card) on the 3rd day of each remaining month starting in September.

Accounts not paid within terms are subject to an accruing $5/ week finance charge and discontinued services until paid.

** Recital costumes fees will be posted to your dancer’s account on October 8th and due by October 15th for all classes performing in the Fall Recital. Year-long classes only performing in the Spring Recital will have their costumes fees split into 2 payments. The first being posted November 1st and due November 15th and the second being posted February 1st and due February 15th. Recital costumes fees will be posted to your dancer’s account on February 1st and due by February 15th for all classes performing in the Spring Recital.


Discounts:

Early Pay Discounts- any tuition paid 5 days or more early will receive a 5% discount.

Family Discount- families with 2 or more dancers will receive a 10% discount on tuition.

Multi-Class Discounts (% off total tuition)- 5 classes 20%, 6 classes 25%, 7 classes 30%, 8 classes 35%, 9 classes 40% and 10 classes 50%. 10 Class tuition cap-no charge for additional classes after 10.

(Discounts are applied automatically through Dance Studio Pro upon registration)


Refund & Account Credits

Tuition and costume fees are not refundable. Refunds are only issued when BSD cancels a class due to low enrollment.

Account credit will be issued when the student/ parent initiates a schedule change. Credits will be applied to any BSD tuition or fees due within one year.
